Exposing the Counterfeit
True leaders have the ability to recognize a counterfeit when they see one. They would not consider following nor endorsing anyone who has not passed the character test. True leaders are not swayed because others may be misled or deceived. They resist the temptation to rationalize and or justify unethical and undisciplined behavior regardless of who is doing it.
As a leader you must not allow a person’s physical attributes or charm to lull you into accepting improper behavior. Be unwilling to allow yourself to be convinced that it doesn’t matter. Always seek after leaders who work hard at cultivating the critical components of their character and behavior.
Never assume because a person is famous, has money or has a title, that they are qualified to lead you. Starting today, you must develop the capacity to identify behavior that is contrary to your set values. Don’t ever be guilty of “blindly” following others.
