The Technique referred to as “The Method” centers itself for the actor, although the followers and teachers of this way of acting claim its the character. But theater was by no means all about the creation of personality, it was constantly and totally about storytelling. Tell the story. The actor and their ‘creative’ skills rather than the accomplishing of the task at hand is a focus of the Method Technique. This internal, inward-directed target makes a self-conscious performance the key, which ultimately has little to do with the participation in actions that are told through the author.
