Our protocols say …
Our protocols say you never approach, touch, or attempt a rescue of a person near a down power line until the power company has arrived and guarranted the power off. You don’t know just by looking at it. We do have a Tic Tracer to detect electricity… sub stations try to reset and thus send a burst of electricity to see if it trips again. You don’t want to be around when that happens. I don’t agree either with being on that aerial ladder so close to the power lines.
when a life matters …
when a life matters you act, i have been on a call and have wait 1 hour with an arching power line on a car for the power company to come rockinfireman5 LOL
how is it obvious …
how is it obvious the lines were shut down?? you NEVER truly know if the lines are off unless you touch them or have a special reader…..even if the power company says they are shut off, you don’t ever trust them until they test it for you
your not a …
your not a firefighter are you? because its obvious the lines were shut down
well they had to it …
well they had to it was so big hand lines won’t put out. but they could of put it in a better place, very good rescue
wow, that looks …
wow, that looks kinda dumb…..who raises a ladder, RIGHT NEXT to the power lines and THEN sprays water over the top of them….I hope the lines were shut off…there were probably better ways to go about this
