You may be surprised to hear this, but the law is not identical in every country in the world. What the fire codes require in the UK is different from what they require in Somalia, is different from what they require in the USA.

Since you didn’t tell us what country you live in, any answer would be a 100% guess.

(And in many countries, the law varies by State or Province if it’s a Federal country, and fire codes may also be established on a city or county level in many places.)

So, since you didn’t say where you are, sorry, can’t help you.

Since you haven’t said where you are, no-one will be able to answer your question properly.

Laws are not universal - they vary from place to place!

There might be national, state or local laws governing such things in some places. There are not here, as far as I know.
