what kind of volunteer work can i do in fire station/hospital?
i have no job experience and i am applying for a lifeguard. so i figured if i would volunteer at a hospital or fire station it would help me. what kind of work can a 17yr old do in those 2 places. or what else would you recommend to volunteer for to become a lifeguard?
i think you need to ber at least 16 to volunteer to be a firefighter and as long as you show up at the fires there will always be something to do whether it be fighting the fire itself, untangling hoses or if it is in the middle of the night getting coffee for the guys any help is usually welcomed in a volunteer company.

at a hospital you can do alot of things. you get to work in some department and just help out really and get a feel for the environment. You either can follow around a doctor and see what he.she does. or actually help out, i did work at a nursery that was fun.
i would just call your local hospital and ask for an application and they ask you what you want to do and tell them what part your interested in.
and im not sure what you can do at a fire stations, but you should do "a ride along", that will probably boost up your credentials.
and they are fun!
