    Seriously!?

  5. what youre seeing …
what youre seeing is the aftermath of a sparkler that caught fire to a reef hanging on the front door of the house. As the flames built the door and surrounding area went up in flames and eventually caused two full tiki torches near by on the front porch to explode. The flames were so hot they melted the door handle on the outside off. I realized the fire only a few minutes into and called 911 but by the time they got there it had reached our attic and both rooms on the 2nd floor.

  10. the same thing …
the same thing could happen if it was one or two engines, it is always better to have extra and be able to recall them then not have enough and have to hit out a second alarm. at my fire company we have 6 companies on our first alarm which i think is just the right amount

  11. Damn! Plenty of …

  15. Hi. In the Seattle …
Hi. In the Seattle FD, the standard Full Response for a house fire is: 4 Engines, 2 Ladders, 2 Battalion Chiefs, the Deputy Chief (Deputy 1), 1 Aid Unit (BLS), 1 Medic Unit (ALS), Air 9, Safety 2 and Staff 10. The Ladder companies perform search and rescue, ventilate, and help in overhaul. The Ladders try to position themselves in front of the fire building, even though they don’t always raise their aerial. I didn’t check the records, but it looks like this remained at a 1 alarm.

  16. Many times …
Many times different response units (engine, truck, rescue, etc…) have different specialized tasks to which they are igned. Regardless of what apparatus they respond in they have different jobs when they get there. The ladder companies usually take care of ventilation and search/rescue duties upon arrival, whereas the pumper/engine companies are responsible for extinguishment.

  17. I was wondering the …
I was wondering the same thing, looks like they called a 3 or 4 alarm. I’m thinking it could be because of high population in the area, fire exposure,
