    Well obviously I thought of that but that can’t be the entire story. Doesn’t fire kill plants as well? What I’d like to hear is how long it takes before plants regrow on soil that had a salty shower, compared with just scorched earth. A few minerals can’t be all that bad can it? The next rainfall will wash the salt deep into the soil anyway (I presume). Heck I’m no expert at all there’s bound to be a reason. Maybe it does ruin the soil for an (unacceptable) prolonged time.

    there is GPS on board use for pinpoint the location, but the real challenge is the wind direction, aircraft can drift sideway even look like flying straight.

  15. You know I read …
    You know I read somewhere that a criticism for scoopers (those that scoop water) is that there isn’t enough ’suitable’ water in fire prone areas. But seing as LA is coastal is it wrong to use salt water? I mean there’s an endless supply close by. What would really be cool is if they convert this into a scooper:
