  1. ..No, it definitely …
..No, it definitely didn’t start out as an insult. It meant, and still does mean, emotive hardcore/emotive punk. It’s not an insult at all to people who actually know what the real genre is. But yeah, Fugazi is not emo.. I agree on that.

    Dude, the drummer …
Dude, the drummer totally gets a boner at 2:69. It’s like the priest in Little Mermaid. Anyway there will be the Lemon Party of all Lemon Parties tonight at Lemon Party dot o r g. If you miss it you are gayer than Michael Jackson.

  5. The line between …
The line between post-hardcore and early emo is very blurry. I don’t classify Fugazi as emo, but musically they’ve got plenty of similarities to bands like Jawbreaker, Rites of Spring, etc.

Regardless, Jawbreaker is awesome, Fugazi is awesome, and early post-hardcore is awesome.

    “Emo”… Didn’t …
“Emo”… Didn’t that term start out as an insult against certain emotional post-hardcore bands such as Rites of Spring? To my mind, it still stands as an insult - if not in the original respect, then for what it’s become.
And Fugazi was never emo. Post-hardcore, folks - sorry! Don’t class them by their ociation (or by Guy’s history). Listen to the music and put two and two together.
Sure, the emo movement emerged from within post-hardcore, but don’t mix them up.
    Thanks. x

  7. This was definitely …
This was definitely emo back in the day. But that shouldn’t make it in the same genre as the that’s considered emo now. At some point, emo started being about wearing eyeliner and tight black clothes and stopped being about making intelligent music about real life occurrences, and that’s when emo stopped being good.
