What movie has a teacher and fireman that fall in love?

It is not an old movie, but not a recent one either. The teacher is a woman. At the beginning of the movie the teacher and the fireman (i think that’s what his occupation was) are both engaged to other people. They end up meeting, I think while registering for dishes for wedding gifts. Not sure on that either. But they end up falling in love and the teacher writes a book about him. Anyone know what movie this is?!?

Dont know about that one but i like to know if you know about a movie with a teacher, from the 1800, and she is in love with a man, who doesn’t even seem to notice her, but his friend is madly in love with her
