What should I write about in my paper on becoming a fireman?

My name is zach and I recently made the choice to become a firefighter. I am joining the Georgia explorer program for extra training and must start by writing a two page essay on why I want to join/become a fireman. My reasons are simple and I don’t think I can do two pages over this simple topic. Does any one have any ideas?

thank you

Even if your reasons are simple you can still get very specific and fill out a lot of room. For example if one of your reasons is to help people, maybe tell a story about how you helped someone or how someone helped you, it can even be somebody else’s story: My girlfriend had a small fire in the kitchen, blah, blah, the firefighters did this and that, my girlfriend was so thankful, I want to be one of those guys.
You can tell a specific story of how you first got interested in the fire service. Do you remember the sirens when you were young? Did you have a family member that preceded you in the fire department?
I am telling you that you have a lot to say. Everyone does. If you tell your story and reasons, just go into it. It is real and it is interesting.

  1. I think you may have a form of writer’s block.
I think if you have a microphone, you should connect it to your computer and "talk" your paper.
Then play it back and type it.
When you print it out, double space it, and use a 12 point courier font
I think you’ll find it’s around two pages. If it’s not, try to fill in more details.
For example if you say: I like working outdoors, and that’s all you said about that point, then you could break it down to more detail, and say some of the things you already enjoy doing outdoors, and some of the things you wish you could do outdoors. it’s easy to turn 4 words into 40 this way.
