Absolutely. It helps if your ‘real’ job (the one that pays you) will allow you to take off when there is a fire. But there will be lots of opportunities after/before work/weekends. Please remember that there will be training necessary and lots of volunteer departments, the volunteer has to purchase his/her own equipment. References :
