need easy recipes for fund raisers for volunteer auxiliary to use for Fire Dept. serving about 200 people SW?

Who has easy receipies for fund raisers for Volunteer Fire Department, need to feed aprox. 200 people. Funds provide Gloves, Shields, Training, anything needed each month for fire fighters all great men and women our way of saying thank you is to provide a good meal the community will want to come to, we need to have receipies that do not cost a lot to prepare and are easy to serve all ideas would be helpful. Please help all Volunteer Departments near you, they are so easy to ignore till you need them

Hi, One of the easiest and most cost effective for a large group is a Spagetti dinner with salad, rolls or garlic bread and dessert. That is what I have used in the past.

  1. I am on a fire department, a nationally certified FF-1. We usually have Fireman’s Day the first Saturday in July. This generally grosses aboout $15,000. We have tried fish fries. Another good one is Fire house chili. It is easy to make and you can make it in roasting pans. Our town is only 150, but we get way over that to come to our events. I am the secretary/treasurer, another thing we do is send out a letter asking for donations, we do this usually in May. Last year we brought in $2000, from this. Postage and letters only run about $150. Selling T-shirts and caps is good also. You can sell them at the door when you have your events. Raffles are good, you can get a shot gun for the men and like a digital camera for the women. The kids games are nice for the kids, but plan to loose a little on that. Everyone likes Chili though and it is a crowd pleaser. Some of our neighboring towns have pancake breakfasts, but we don”t have a grill at our community center. I think you could probably talk the Knight’s of Columbus in bringing their grill if they know what it is for.

  3. I read on this website an easy recipe for cheese cake is, put a grahm cracker on the bottom put whatever in the middle (I think it is cream cheese) and jelly on the top (your favorite kind)
