    95%. Thats right, …
95%. Thats right, 95% of fire departments our like mine. Facts buddy.

  4. this guy is such a …
this guy is such a jackass… he gets on youtube and searches firefighter videos then rip on those who are there to help him when he needs it. right out of high school me and 5 others went and joined the department.. and have done countless hours of classes… trainings.. calls…. everything.. so when that time comes.. we are not just people with lightbars on our truck.. we are just as much as the fulltimers.. but we dont ask get gas refunded to us to drive to the station.nothing.. all for free

  5. you are so right..i …
you are so right..i am on this department.. and in free time we do take extra classes… and i work a full time job 7-3 monday through friday. we have training every single wednesday night. and whenever we get a call we drop what ever we are doing to help those in dyer need. these people just have no respect, but when they’re grandparents can’t breathe at 2 o clock in the morning even though i work the next day. at 7 i still get up to go help them.. I ask.. WHAT IF VOLUNTEERS DIDNT VOLUNTEER

  6. Volunteer doctor? …
Volunteer doctor? If they’re willing to pay the high cost of malpractice insurance and work for free, let them go right ahead. If they’re wealthy enough to pay $200,000 for medical school and then work for free more power to them. Think brother

  7. I’m here to save …
I’m here to save your and not kiss it. And if your home caught fire you’d be calling for help, from those paid or those who do it for free. Hopefully you’ll realize we are professionals and not just handed gear and pointed in the right direction and told to get in there and spray water.

  8. Well guess what! I …
Well guess what! I stood alongside those who work for full time departments in the fire academy and we still have the same respect for each other and always will. Its clear that you’re not a ff. But your full timers left the academy and went straight to work. But your vollie here continued his training to specialize in high angle rescue, confined space rescue, and hazmat tech. But i dont get credit for that because im not paid for it.

  9. If you’re willing …
If you’re willing to pay more money for people to do the same job then go right ahead big shot. Do you think the state certifies us differently than paid firemen? I bet you didn’t believe that vollies carry certifications.

  10. If there is such a …
If there is such a BIG difference why did you fail to state the difference? The biggest difference is the dollar amount written on the paycheck. The next biggest difference is one station is manned and one is not.

  11. Great reply uakron, …
Great reply uakron, and thanks for the understanding words. I strive to be a full time paid firefighter someday, but i would still carry utmost respect for the guys that volunteer to do it without pay. We are a rare breed!

  12. If only more people …
If only more people thought like you. We, like most departments, make the best with what we have. Would you rather have nothing at all?

  13. Do you have a …
Do you have a volunteer Doctor? I did not think so! I don’t think you grasp what the difference!! I have a real good friend that is a vol. and one that is paid… let me tell you there is BIG difference! I’m just a TAX payer in a small town. I would gladly pay more taxes for PROFEESIONALS !!

  14. I guess you dont …
I guess you dont grasp the concept of volunteer fire department and a demo run lol

  15. It’s funny that you …
It’s funny that you say that. Why are you watching a bunch of wannabe heroes? 1. Learn to spell. 2. Volunteers make up over 75 percent of the fire departments in this country. 3. You dont have to like or agree with what we do, just respect it. Our job is no different than a career firefighter. They’re paid more than us and they happen to stay at the station 24/7, even though some vol departments have full-time also. That’s the difference.

  16. hm.. we dont have …
hm.. we dont have the biggest budget for station wear… and this was put together in about 2 hours before our weekly training…so we really werent worried about what we look like… and i was told by someone..”I DONT CARE IF YOU SHOW UP SMELLING LIKE HOG … AS LONG AS YOU SAVE MY WIFES LIFE”… and is that not the truth.

  17. well considering …
well considering its a volunteer department u dont have people manning the station so if i put my bunker gear by the truck… what if we get a call the next day when i am at work… someone will just trip over it… we have a excellent response time… we are going alot faster in a real situation.. what dont you people understand… its a DEMO RUN for a college project that was it..

    Department policy …
Department policy states gear must stay in the locker, on true runs we obviously put most gear in on the truck…this was just a thorough demonstration
